The old downtown square of Fayetteville, Arkansas, has been beautified since I was there at the University in the early 60's. The post-office on the square is now a restuarant and this building is now law offices. It used to be a furniture and hardware store.

This and the previous photo are of outside of the northwest corner of the square. This used to be the McElroy Bank.

There is a waterfall fountain on the northwest corner of the actual square. The children are climbing around it. We went to the square because it was farmers' market day.

This plaque lists some highlights of Fayetteville's history. It was in deep shade, but the exposure is good. I not sure whether it will be readable at this resolution or not.

Someone had done a great job with the landscaping and flower beds.

The bloom of a plant that looked liked an ornamental onion. Onions get blooms like this when they 'go to seed.' It was about 8 to 10 centimeters in diameter.
