THE LEAF

I photographed this leaf by light transmitted through the leaf itself from a light table in the copy stand . I used my uncle's 4x5 sheet film copy camera. I then contact-printed the negative onto high contrast 4x5 sheet film to produce a positive (black on white) transparency and then used that to make a high contrast negative (white on black). This is a scan from a 8x10 black-on-white print of the negative. I changed it to a negative image using ArcSoft photo software. The leaf was from a bush or tree in my Uncle Irving's yard. I was staying with him for the summer and had access to his photo equipment.
