Ouachita River Crossings
Bridge at Grigsby Ford
near Malvern
![Downstream at old ford.](ouachita_files/FordDownw605h358.JPG)
The Ouachita makes almost a ninety degree turn from the east southeast to the south southwest after the Interstate 30 crossing just west of Malvern. An old country road runs west from U.S. 67 in Malvern to the location of an old river ford. There is good access to the river on both sides of the bridge on the east side. Downstream of the bridge several branches of the river flow between the islands seen on the left in the photo. It was not clear whether that becomes the main stream or whether the main stream continues toward the back right in the photo.
