2nd & 3rd Rolls of B&W 35mm Film -- 1959-60 PAGE 4
I managed to get a couple of extra frames on that roll. The film is not number for those frames. Also, the 'A' or half-frame markings were not used then. (Click on the 'thumbnails' to see the larger versions, then click your browser's back button to return.)

This stamp was reproduced on a full page of Life magazine or something similar. This is a test of copy capability of the Signet 40 with a close-up lens attachment. The scan of the B&W negative came out with a slightly green tint. I remember that the original magazine print had a green tint.

One of my jobs at home was bringing the cows in after school. They grazed in the fields and woods across the highway from our house. The area available for them was over 100 acres, but they were usually easy to find. We had several more than this cow and the two calves.

Frame 5
My sister is a year younger than I am. We had no air conditioning systems at home, so an open window was the only source of cooling for a nap on a hot Arkansas summer afternoon.
Frame 6
Frame 6
My baby sister was about seven years old when I made this portrait. I cropped it a little during the scanning process, but it isn't bad for estimating the focus and trying to correct for parallax. I may have had a hand-held light meter by then; otherwise, the exposure was an estimate.

Frame 7
This is a niece of my hometown school buddy. She and her brother were about the same age as my little sister and brother. The design on the dress is very sharp on the negative, but the focus on her face is a little soft. She is now a grandmother.
Frame 9
Frame 9
This is her brother. Note that these are consecutive frames. (Frame 8 was a profile of the girl.) I couldn't afford to bracket exposures and try different poses.
Frame 10
Frame 10
This is my little brother. He was about six years old then. The focus looks soft when the negative is viewed with a magnifier, but it makes a pretty good portrait for CRT display. Frames 11 through 16 were shots from the TV.

Frame 18
The old movie theatre went out of business and fell into disrepair, but has now been restored and is used for meetings and special events. They may even show movies there.
